Gaia Artificial Reef (Masks)

Gaia artificial reef was created in November of 2021 with breakwater rocks placed in an oval shape and the diameter of the dive site is approximately 70m, located in the Marine Protected area of Dasoudi in Limassol. After almost a year, on 7th of June 2022, two big white carnival masks made out of concrete were placed on this dive site, each weighing around 12 tonnes and measuring 4.20m x 2.50m. The two masks can be found in upward position on the Southern part of the dive site at 17m max depth. You can usually find a school of amberjacks swimming in circles on top of the two masks and many groupers hiding around the rocks.
